Get some tips about the HESI

So, you want to prepare for the HESI?

1.  Get this book.  It has samples of most of the questions that are on the test.

Some of my students took the HESI and they reported that
-- there's only one question about Roman Numerals   MCMDLVI
-- there's one question about the 24 hour clock:   What time is it when the clock reads 21:15?  (subtract 12)
They did not report any question about a train driving at 40 mph going east and a train driving 50 mph going west.  They are  100 miles apart, what time do they meet?
That sort of problem was not on the test.

Probability
A woman has 3 pairs of red shoes, 15 boots, 8 pairs of blue shoes and 4 pairs of red shoes
Where is the chance that she will pick up a pair of boots?

There are 50 students and 44% are male.  How many men are students?

At least six ratios
4:20::5:X

At least five problems with decimals
Multiplying
One problem about division
several on adding or subtracting

55 Math questions

When we multiply or divide by a negative number, the INEQUALITY direction SWITCHES

Here is the math lesson for today.

9x > 81

so
9x  > 81
__     __
9        9

x  >  9

BUT WHEN THE Inequality has a NEGATIVE number multiply or dividing the X, then we have to SWITCH DIRECTION.

-9X > 81

-9x  >  81
__       __
-9       - 9

x  <  -9
